Olympic gold medalist, advocate, and speaker, Mark Tewksbury is a former world-record holder, Companion of the Order of Canada, and a leading voice for inclusion and belonging. Tewksbury is presenting a talk entitled “From Being Bullied to Building Belonging” based on what he’s learned through his experience as an Olympic gold medalist, an out gay sports hero, highly successful national and international motivational speaker, a humanitarian leader, and a recently certified Red Seal chef. He invites those attending to focus on the deeply held goals and then pursue them with intense commitment. He models supporting social justice and 2SLGBTQIA++ objectives and encourages those commitments in his audiences. There will be a Q&A and discussion following the presentation. *Proceeds from the event support Dawn to Dawn's Gukwas sa Wagalus/House of the Rainbow, a supportive housing project for Indigenous and non-Indigenous queer youth.
