A Legal Advocate is at the library every 4th Wednesday from 12 to 2 p.m. for drop-in conversations - no appointment necessary. Please note that there will be no drop-in hours on October 28. The Sea to Sky Community Services Legal Advocacy Program offers free advocacy support and assistance to financially restricted individuals and families in Squamish, Whistler, and Pemberton. The Legal Advocate provides one-on-one legal advice to low-income clients. This ranges from referrals to summary advice to full representation—and the Legal Advocate also offers public education, information, guidance, and mediation support across a variety of legal topics, such as: Housing, including residential tenancy disputes Employment issues related to employment insurance and employment standards Income assistance, such as disability applications and appeals, information on rights and benefits Canada Pension Plan Disability (CPP-D) and Persons With Disabilities (PWD) appeals Consumer and debt issues Can't make the Wednesday Drop-In? The Legal Advocate is also at: Whistler Community Services Society (WCSS) Food Bank on the second Wednesday from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Sea to Sky Community Services (SSCS) Pemberton Office on the last Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Prefer to book an appointment?
