Hey Folks! I’m teaching a few classes about identifying, foraging, and cooking mushrooms this year through the city of Campbell River’s rec program! I’m excited to share my excitement and knowledge about local fungi. We’ll meet at Beaver Lodge Lands (via Trask Road), and walk through the forest identifying interesting fungi, and talking about different ways of preparing, preserving, and cooking wild mushrooms. Then I will be doing a mushroom cooking demonstration & taste test on my portable stove in the Beaver Lodge Lands parking lot off Trask Road. Interested? Great! You can Register Here! About me: I’ve been studying mushrooms in Campbell River for the past 20+ years, and love taking people for walks through the fall forest to introduce them to our amazing mushroom varieties. I pick over 30 species edible mushrooms, and these guides will introduce you to some of my favorites. PS: while not required, if you want a more in-depth mushroom identification course — please consider also taking one of my 2-day mushroom classes. Interested in another time or day? Leave a comment below or email me & I’ll put you on a waitlist.
